[ 11 ]Review the basics• Battery operation time may be less than the estimated times duringthe first charges. This condition is normal.• When the battery is fully discharged, the scrolling bars may notappear immediately.• After the first charge, you can make and receive calls during thecharging cycle, but the calls interrupt the charge. When the phonecall ends, the charge will resume.• The bars on the screen stop scrolling and remain constant when thephone is charged. If you leave the phone connected to the charger,the battery receives an additional charge.Note: The battery will accept a "trickle charge" for an additionaltwo hours. See “Batteries” on page 115. for more information.• Charging time depends on the charger and battery. For example,charging time for the BPS-2 battery using the ACP-12U charger isabout 2 hours.Important: Recharge your battery only with a charger approvedby Nokia. This phone is not compatible with the Nokia batterycharger ACP-9U.• TURN ON THE PHONE• Press and hold the power key on top of thephone for two seconds.Warning: Do not switch on the phonewhen wireless phone use is prohibitedor when it may cause interferenceor danger.
