Whenthe GPRS service is available, the icon is shown on the top left of the display.When you start an application using GPRS, the connection between phone andnetwork is established, the icon is shown, and data transfer is possible. Whenyou end the application, the GPRS connection is ended, but the registration tothe GPRS network remains.If you receive a call or a text message or make a call during a GPRS connection,the icon appears on the top right of the display to indicate that the GPRSconnection is suspended (on hold).Always online—Sets the phone to automatically register to a GPRS network whenyou switch the phone on.Your phone supports three simultaneous GPRS connections. For example, you canview XHTML pages, receive multimedia messages, and have an ongoing PC dial-upconnection at the same time.GPRS modem settingsYou can connect the phone using Bluetooth and IR to a compatible PC and usethe phone as a modem to enable GPRS connectivity from the PC.Define1. Select Menu > Settings > Connectivity > GPRS > GPRS connection > GPRSmodem settings.2. Select Active access point and activate the access point you want to use.3. Select Edit active access point to change the access point settings.4. Select Alias for access point, enter the name you would like for the activatedaccess point, and select OK.5. Select GPRS access point, enter the access point name (APN) to establish aconnection to a GPRS network, and select OK. Contact your service providerfor the APN.You can also set the GPRS service settings (APN) on your PC using the NokiaModem Options software. If you have set the settings on your PC and on yourphone, the PC settings will be used.
