This will change thecommunicator to a fax modem. When the communicator is used as a faxmodem, the call status indicator shows the text MODEM.5 To stop using the communicator as a fax modem, press Disable.The operations of a modem can be controlled by AT commands and S-registers. These commands give the advanced user an opportunity to controlall the features of the modem. Should you need to enter the commandsmanually, consult the documentation of the PC application that you are using.A list of common AT commands based on the ETSI 07.07 standard andsupported by the Nokia 9110i Communicator are available in the atcomm.txtfile on the diskette included in the sales package of your communicator.When the communicator is used as a fax modem, its normal communicationfeatures are disabled. Otherwise, the applications remain functional.If an active PC connection is idle for longer than 20 minutes, the fax modem isautomatically disabled to conserve power. However, when the communicatoris connected to an electrical outlet, for example, while charging a battery, thetime-out is not active.Data removalThe Data removal application comes in handy if you want to remove personalinformation from the communicator, for example, before lending it tosomeone else. In this way you need not remove data one by one.1 Select what kind of data you want to remove. The removable data isarranged in four groups: All device data, Calendar data, Documents,Contacts and speed dials.2 Press Delete.Note: The infrared connection in Windows2000 and NT 4.0 is not compatible with thecommunicator.
