Avoiding low memoryYou should regularly delete messages from Inbox andSent folders, and delete retrieved e-mail from the devicememory to free up memory space.To delete e-mails from the device, press Menu, and selectTools > Delete e-mails locally.... Press Change, and selectthe e-mail you want to delete. For example, you can deleteall e-mail or only e-mail that was received more than twoweeks ago. Press Delete now to delete the e-mails. Notethat the e-mail and its attachments are deleted, but theheader information (sender, date and subject) remains onyour device.Tip: Use this method to delete e-mail only fromthe device. The original e-mail remains on theserver. If you delete e-mails with the Deletecommand button in Messaging, the messagesyou delete are permanently deleted from thedevice and your remote mailbox the next timeyou go online.To delete e-mail both from the device and from theremote server, open an e-mail, and press Delete.To empty the Sent folder automatically, press Menu, andselect Tools > Sent items storage.... Set Delete sentitems to Automatically, and enter the number of daysafter which the device empties the folder.The Nokia 9300i mail system is compliant with Internetstandards SMTP, IMAP4 (rev 1), and POP3.To receive and send mail, you must set up a remotemailbox service. This service may be offered by anInternet service provider, a network service provider, oryour company.Before you can send, receive, retrieve, reply to, andforward mail on your device, you must do the following:• You must configure an Internet access point (IAP)correctly. See "Internet setup," p. 89.• You must define your mail settings correctly. See "E-mail account settings," p. 43.Follow the instructions from your remote mailbox andInternet service providers. Contact your network andInternet service providers or operator for the correctsettings.Working online and offlineWorking online means working with your deviceconnected to a remote mailbox through an Internetconnection. When online, you can delete, rename, orcreate new folders in your remote mailbox.
