First start-up1. Press and hold the power key until youfeel the device vibrate.2. If prompted, enter the PIN code or lockcode, and select OK.3. When prompted, enter the country inwhich you are located and the currentdate and time. To find your country,enter the first letters of the countryname. It is important to select thecorrect country, because scheduledcalendar entries may change if youchange the country later and the newcountry is located in a different timezone.4. The Phone setup application opens. To set up anapplication, select Start. To bypass setting upapplications, select Skip repeatedly. To open thePhone setup application later, select Menu > Help >Phone setup.To configure the various settings in your device, use thewizards available in the home screen and the Settingswizard application. When you switch the device on, it mayrecognise the SIM card provider and configure somesettings automatically. You can also contact your serviceprovider for the correct settings.You can switch the device on without inserting a SIM card.The device starts up in the Offline profile, and you cannotuse the network-dependent phone functions.To switch the device off, press and hold the power key.Lock the keysWhen the device or keypad is locked, calls may be possibleto the official emergency number programmed into yourdevice.The keypad of your device locks automatically to preventaccidental keypresses.To change the length of time after which the keypad islocked, select Menu > Ctrl. panel > Settings andGeneral > Security > Phone and SIM card > Keypadautolock period.To lock the keys manually in thehome screen, press the left selectionkey and then the right selection key.To lock the keys manually in themenu or in an open application, pressthe power key briefly, and select Lockkeypad.To unlock the keys, press the left selection key and thenthe right selection key.AccessoriesYou can connect your device to a range of compatibleaccessories.
