Switch the device on andoffTo switch on the device:1. Press and hold the power key.2. If the device asks for a PIN code or lock code,enter it, and select OK. The preset lock code is12345. If you forget the code and your device islocked, your device will require service andadditional charges may apply. For moreinformation, contact a Nokia Care point or your devicedealer.To switch off the device, press the power key briefly, andselect Switch off!.Charge the batteryYour battery has been partially charged at the factory. If thedevice indicates a low charge, do the following:1. Connect the charger to a wall outlet.2. Connect the charger plug to the device.3. When the device indicates a full charge, disconnect thecharger from the device, then from the wall outlet.You do not need to charge the battery for a specific length oftime, and you can use the device while it is charging. If thebattery is completely discharged, it may take several minutesbefore the charging indicator appears on the display orbefore any calls can be made.Charging with the USB data cableCharging with the USB data cable is slower than charging withthe charger. Charging with the USB data cable may not workif you use a USB hub. USB hubs may be incompatible forcharging a USB device.When the USB data cable is connected, you can transfer dataat the same time as charging.1. Connect a compatible USB device to your device using acompatible USB data cable.Depending on the type of the device that is used forcharging, it may take a while for charging to start.2.
