MapsAbout MapsWith Maps, you can see your current location on the map,browse maps of different cities and countries, search forplaces, plan routes from one location to another, savelocations, and send them to compatible devices. You canalso purchase licences for traffic information andnavigation services, if available for your country or region.When you use Maps for the first time, you may need toselect an internet access point for downloading maps.If you browse to an area which is not covered by mapsalready downloaded in your device, a map for the area isautomatically downloaded through the internet. Somemaps may be available in your device or on a memory card.You can also use the Nokia Map Loader PC software todownload maps. To install Nokia Map Loader to acompatible PC, see www.nokia.com/maps.Tip: To avoid data transfer costs, you can also useMaps without an internet connection, and browsethe maps that are saved in your device or memorycard.Note: Downloading content such as maps, satelliteimages, voice files, guides or traffic information mayinvolve transmission of large amounts of data (networkservice).Almost all digital cartography is inaccurate andincomplete to some extent. Never rely solely on thecartography that you download for use in this device.Use Maps with thecompassSelect Menu > Applications > GPS > Maps.When the compass in your device is enabled, the circlearound the compass is green, and the map view rotatesautomatically according to the direction to which the topof the device is pointing.To enable the compass, select Options > Tools > Turncompass on. When the compass is not in use, the circlearound the compass is white, and the map view does notrotate automatically.Calibrate compassThe compass has limited accuracy. Electromagnetic fields,metal objects, or other external circumstances may alsoaffect the accuracy of the compass.
