To use GPS data, the GPS receiver of your device must initiallyreceive position information from at least four satellites tocalculate the coordinates of your location. When the initialcalculation has been made, it may be possible to continuecalculating the coordinates of your location with threesatellites. However, the accuracy is generally better whenmore satellites are found.Route guidanceSelect Menu > Applications > GPS > GPS data andNavigation.Start the route guidance outdoors. If started indoors, the GPSreceiver may not receive the necessary information from thesatellites.Route guidance uses a rotating compass on the devicedisplay. A red ball shows the direction to the destination, andthe approximate distance to it is shown inside the compassring.Route guidance is designed to show the straightest route andthe shortest distance to the destination, measured in astraight line. Any obstacles on the route, such as buildingsand natural obstacles, are ignored. Differences in altitude arenot taken into account when calculating the distance. Routeguidance is active only when you move.To set your trip destination, select Options > Setdestination and a landmark as the destination, or enter thelatitude and longitude coordinates. To clear the destination set for your trip, select Stopnavigation.Retrieve position informationSelect Menu > Applications > GPS > GPS data andPosition. In the position view, you can view the position informationof your current location. Accuracy can also be affected by availability and qualityof GPS signals. To turn trip distance calculation on or off, select Options >Start or Stop. The calculated values remain on the display.Use this feature outdoors to receive a better GPS signal. To set the trip distance and time and average and maximumspeeds to zero, and to start a new calculation, selectOptions > Reset.
