E-mail settingsManage mailboxesPress , and select Messaging > Options >Settings > E-mail.To select which mailbox you want to use to send e-mail, select Mailbox in use and a mailbox.To remove a mailbox and its messages from yourdevice, select Mailboxes, scroll to the desired mailbox,and press C.To create a new mailbox, in Mailboxes, selectOptions > New mailbox. The name you give to thenew mailbox replaces New mailbox in the Messagingmain view. You can have up to six mailboxes.Select Mailboxes and a mailbox to change theconnection settings, user settings, retrieval settings,and automatic retrieval settings.Connection settingsPress , and select Messaging > Options >Settings > E-mail > Mailboxes, a mailbox, andConnection settings.To edit the settings for the e-mail you receive, selectIncoming e-mail, and from the following:● User name — Enter your user name given to youby your service provider.● Password — Enter your password. If you leave thisfield blank, you are prompted for the passwordwhen you try to connect to your remote mailbox.● Incoming mail server — Enter the IP address orhost name of the mail server that receives your e-mail.● Access point in use — Select an internet accesspoint (IAP). See "Access points", p. 179.● Mailbox name — Enter a name for the mailbox.● Mailbox type — Defines the e-mail protocol thatyour remote mailbox service provider recommends.The options are POP3 and IMAP4. This settingcannot be changed.● Security — Select the security option used to securethe connection to the remote mailbox.● Port — Define a port for the connection.● APOP secure login (for POP3 only) — Use with thePOP3 protocol to encrypt the sending of passwordsto the remote e-mail server while connecting to themailbox.To edit the settings for the e-mail you send, selectOutgoing e-mail and from the following:● My e-mail address — Enter the e-mail addressgiven to you by your service provider.Messaging131 Messaging
