Strong side light gives a dramaticeffect but may be too harsh, resulting in too muchcontrast.• Light source in front of the subject. Harsh sunlightmay cause the subjects to squint their eyes. Thecontrast may also be too high.• Optimal lighting is found in situations where there isplenty of diffused, soft light available, for example, ona bright, partially cloudy day or on a sunny day in theshadow of trees.Record videosTo activate the main camera, rotate the display to theImaging mode. If the camera is in image mode, scroll rightto select video mode.To select the secondary camera, for example, to includeyourself in the video, select Options > Use second.camera, or rotate the display to the Fold open mode.To adjust color before recording a video, select Options >Adjust > White balance or Colour tone. See ‘Adjust colorand lighting’, p. 27.1 In the main camera, press the capture key, or in thesecondary camera, press to start recording. The redrecord icon is shown. The red LED light is lit, and atone sounds, indicating to the subject that video isbeing recorded.2 To pause recording at any time, select Pause. The pauseicon ( ) blinks on the display. Video recordingautomatically stops if recording is set to pause andthere are no keypresses within a minute.3 Select Continue to resume recording.4 Select Stop to stop recording. The video clip isautomatically saved to the Imgs. & video folder ofGallery. See ‘Gallery’, p. 31.Viewfinder indicators show the following:• The device memory ( ) and memory card ( )indicators (1) show where the video is saved.• The microphone indicator shows that themicrophone is muted.• The zoom indicator, which appears on the side pane,shows the zoom level. Scroll up or down or use the sidevolume key to zoom in or zoom out.After a video clip is recorded:• To immediately play the video clip you just recorded,select Options > Play.• If you do not want to keep the video, press , orselect Options > Delete.• To send a video clip to the other party during an activecall, select Options > Send MMS.
