The type of content that can be transferred depends onthe model of the device from which you want to transfercontent. If that device supports synchronization, you canalso synchronize data between the devices. Your devicenotifies you if the other device is not compatible.If the other device cannot be switched on without a SIMcard, you can insert your SIM card in it. When your deviceis switched on without a SIM card, the Offline profile isautomatically activated, and transfer can be done.Transfer content for the first time1 To retrieve data from the other device for the firsttime, on your device, select Menu > Settings >Connectivity > Data transfer > Phone switch.2 Select the connection type you want to use to transferthe data. Both devices must support the selectedconnection type.3 If you select Bluetooth connectivity as the connectiontype, connect the two devices. To have your devicesearch for devices with Bluetooth connectivity, selectContinue. Select the device from which you want totransfer content. You are asked to enter a code on yourdevice. Enter a code (1-16 digits), and select OK. Enterthe same code on the other device, and select OK. Thedevices are now paired.Some earlier Nokia devices may not have the Switchapplication. In this case, the Switch application is sentto the other device as a message. To install the Switchapplication on the other device, open the message,and follow the instructions on the display.4 On your device, select the content you want to transferfrom the other device.When the transfer has started, you can cancel it andcontinue later.Content is transferred from the memory of the otherdevice to the corresponding location in your device. Thetransfer time depends on the amount of data to betransferred.Synchronize, retrieve, or send contentSelect Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Datatransfer > Phone switch.After the first transfer, select from the following to start anew transfer, depending on the model:to synchronize content between your device andthe other device, if the other device supportssynchronization. The synchronization is two-way.If an item is deleted in one device, it is deleted inboth. You cannot restore deleted items withsynchronization.to retrieve content from the other device to yourdevice. With retrieval, content is transferred fromthe other device to your device.
