Display when a WLAN is availableSelect Show WLAN availability > Yes.Set how often the device searches for available WLANSelect Show WLAN availability > Yes and Scan fornetworks.Define internet capability test settingsSelect Internet connectivity test and whether to run thetest automatically or after confirmation, or to never run thetest. If the connectivity test is successful, the access point issaved to the internet destinations list.View advanced settingsSelect Options > Advanced settings.It is recommended that you do not modify the advancedWLAN settings.Access pointsCreate a new access pointSelect Menu > Settings and Connectivity > Destinations.You may receive access point settings in a message from aservice provider. Some or all access points may be preset foryour device by your service provider, and you may not be ableto change, create, edit, or remove them.1 Select Access point.2 The device asks to check for available connections. Afterthe search, connections that are already available areshown and can be shared by a new access point. If youskip this step, you are asked to select a connectionmethod and to define the settings needed.To view access points stored in your device, select an accesspoint group. The different access point groups are thefollowing:Internet access pointsMultimedia messaging access pointsWAP access pointsUncategorised access pointsThe different access point types are indicated with thefollowing:Protected access pointPacket data access pointWireless LAN (WLAN) access pointManage access point groupsTo avoid selecting a single access point every time the devicemakes a network connection, you can create a group thatcontains various access points to connect to that network anddefine the order in which the access points are used. Forexample, you can add wireless LAN (WLAN) and packet dataaccess points to an internet access point group, and use thegroup for browsing the web. If you give WLAN the highestpriority, the device connects to the internet through WLAN,if available, and through a packet data connection if not.Select Menu > Settings and Connectivity > Destinations.© 2011 Nokia.
