84 INSTALLATION PROCEDURE4.1 WING SENSOR INSTALLATION1. Assemble the Breakaway SensorMounting Brackets (B11) as show inFigure 4 and Figure 5.Figure 4 – Breakaway Sensor BracketExploded ViewFigure 5 – Breakaway Sensor MountingBracket AssemblyTo assemble the breakaway sensorbracket:a) Assemble the bolt and nut into thecollar.b) Grease the bottom edge of the collarand the angled tube of the base.c) Place the collar onto the angled tubeof the mounting base.d) Install the spring between the collarand the upper ring of the base.e) Insert tube through assembly andtighten the collar2. Mount the sensor bracket onto the boom.If possible, mount the sensorbrackets while the booms are intheir folded position to ensure thatthey will not interfere withanything when the boom is foldedfor transport.3. The sensor mounting brackets can beinstalled on the 45 degree tube using theprovided adapter plate (B16). Thenattach B13 directly to B16.Mounting the sensor bracket tothe break-away section of theboom may cause the boom to dropsuddenly as a break-away occurs.This will occur on break-awaysections which lift as they breakaway.For optimal boom tip protection, itis recommended that the sensor bemounted within approximatelytwo feet (60cm) of the boom tip.Please refer to the UC4+ Spray HeightControl system warranty at the end ofthe UC4+ Spray Height ControlOperator’s Manual (M01) forimplications.4. Mount the NORAC UC4+ ultrasonicsensor (E02) into the sensor brackets.
