Exercise extreme carewhen connecting and disconnecting propane gascomponents.• Leak test all of the refrigerator propane gas systemfi ttings after servicing, replacing, or repairing any LP gassystem component.Solenoid Gas ValvesThe manual shut-off valve and the pressure tap are integratedinto the solenoid gas valve. To manually shut-off gas to theburner, rotate the knurled shut-off knob one-quarter turn (90degrees) clockwise until the screw slot on the face of the knobis vertical or perpendicular to the fl ow of gas. Refer to Fig. 9below.Solenoid Gas Valve ConnectionsThe solenoid gas valve inlet fi tting is 3/8 inch, male threads;the outlet fi tting is 1/4 inch, male threads.Fig. 9 - Solenoid Gas Valve.LP Gas System - cont’dOrificeThe orifice controls the flow of propane gas to the burner. When replacing the orifice always use the size orifice specified.Using the wrong size or a damaged orifice will alter the amountof propane flowing to the burner. Refer to Fig. 10.BurnerThe burner, see Fig. 11, provides primary air access andacts as the fuel mixing chamber to support ignition and thecombustion of propane gas. Primary combustion air flows intothe burner through three circular openings. Any obstructionblocking any of the three openings will have an effect on thefuel/air mixture. Insufficient combustion air will cause carbondeposits to clog the burner slots. Carbon clogged burnerslots along with heavy dirt deposits in the burner are the maincause of no cooling or poor cooling performance when therefrigerator is operating in LP gas mode.Burner TubeThe burner tube is 1/4 inch OD aluminum tubing with an anti-vibration loop and a double fl are at each end. WARNING:Do not separate cap style LP15 orifice from itsadapter. Separating the assemblies breaks the sealand causes an LP gas leak.
