14HOW TO EXERCISE ON THE ELLIPTICALTo mount the elliptical, hold the handlebars or theupper body arms and step onto the pedal that is in thelower position. Then, step onto the other pedal. Pushthe pedals until they begin to move with a continuousmotion. Note: The pedals can turn in either direc-tion. It is recommended that you turn the pedalsin the direction shown by the arrow; however, forvariety, you can turn the pedals in the oppositedirection.To dismount the elliptical, wait until the pedals come toa complete stop. Note: The elliptical does not havea free wheel; the pedals will continue to move untilthe flywheel stops. When the pedals are stationary,step off the higher pedal first. Then, step off the lowerpedal.HOW TO STORE THE ELLIPTICALDue to the size and weight of the elliptical, storingit requires two persons. CAUTION: You must beable to safely lift 100 lbs. (45 kg) to lift, store, andlower the elliptical.See HOW TO MOVE THE ELLIPTICAL on page 13and lower the upright to the folded position.Next, hold the handle (not shown) on the front stabi-lizer and lift the elliptical to the upright position so that itis resting on the small and large storage feet.To lower the elliptical for use, first hold the handle onthe lift frame with one hand and hold the front stabilizerwith your other hand. Next, pull the frame towards youand lower it until you can reach the handle on the frontstabilizer.
