30MAINTENANCERegular maintenance is important for optimalperformance and to reduce wear. Inspect and properlytighten all parts each time the elliptical is used.Replace any worn parts immediately.To clean the elliptical, use a damp cloth and a smallamount of mild soap. IMPORTANT: To avoid damageto the console, keep liquids away from the consoleand keep the console out of direct sunlight.CONSOLE TROUBLESHOOTINGIf the console does not turn on, make sure that thepower cord is fully plugged in.If the console does not display your heart rate whenyou hold the handgrip heart rate monitor, or if thedisplayed heart rate appears to be too high or too low,see step 5 on page 19.If the console does not display your heart ratewhen you use the chest heart rate monitor, seeTROUBLESHOOTING on page 11.If it is difficult for you to touch the correct buttons onthe screen, the screen may not be properly calibrated.To calibrate the screen, see step 5 on page 26.HOW TO ADJUST THE REED SWITCHIf the console does not display correct feedback, thereed switch should be adjusted. To adjust the reedswitch, first press the power switch to the off posi-tion and unplug the power cord.Next, removethe four M4 x16mm Screws(not shown)from the LargeStorage Foot(27), and thenremove the LargeStorage Foot.Then, remove thetwo M4 x 16mmScrews (not shown) from the Top Shield (37), andthen use a standard screwdriver to pry the Top Shieldupward off the elliptical.Look into the access opening and locate the ReedSwitch (58). Rotate the Pulley (66) until a Magnet (41)is aligned with the Reed Switch.Next, loosen, but do not remove, the two indicatedM4 x 16mm Screws (61). Slide the Reed Switch (58)slightly toward or away from the Magnet (41). Then,retighten the M4 x 16mm Screws.Plug in the power cord, press the power switch to thereset position, and rotate the pulley for a moment.Repeat these actions until the console displays correctfeedback.When the reed switch is correctly adjusted, press thepower switch to the off position, unplug the power cordand reattach the top shield and the large storage foot.Then, plug in the power cord.372766584161MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLESHOOTING
