26 Chapter 4 Managing contacts from the Local DirectoryNN40050-100NN40050-100Filtering a Local DirectoryThe IP Softphone 2050 lets you filter a Local Directory, making it smaller and easier to manage.This feature is useful for dealing with large directories. By filtering a directory, you can reduce thenumber of names through which you must search.To filter a directory1 Click Filter on the toolbar, or Directory > Filter from the menu.The Filter dialog box appears.2 From the Field and Condition lists, choose your filter criteria.3 Enter the values you want included in the filtered list. For example, if under the filter criteriaField: Last Name, Condition: Starts With, you enter Value: C, only contacts with a last namestarting with C appear in the Local Directory.4 To apply the filter, click Add.Dialing from the Local DirectoryTo call a contact stored in the Local Directory1 Open the Local Directory.2 Find the contact you want to call. You can dial using any of the following options:• Double-click the phone number you want to dial.• Double-click the contact's name.• Right-click the contact's entry, and then click the desired telephone number in the menu.• To dial the default telephone number, click Dial on the toolbar.• Click the arrow beside the Dial toolbar button, and then click the desired telephonenumber from the list.Dialing from the Redial List in the Local DirectoryTo dial from the Redial List1 Open the Redial List using one of the following methods:• Select Redial List in the Shortcut Bar of the Local Directory window.• Select Keys > Features > Redial List2 Find the contact using one of the following methods:• Scroll to the desired contact.• Search for the contact by name or number.
