36 Network deploymentFigure 6Data access from BlackBerry and Nokia devicesFor examples of call flows that use the MCC 3100 for BlackBerry orMCC 3100 for Nokia and the MCG 3100, see "MC 3100 call flows" (page 67).BlackBerry deployment considerationsThe Enterprise-hosted BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) defines the datanetworking requirements between the BlackBerry device and the BES. TheBES configuration must include the BlackBerry Mobile Data System (MDS)to allow the MCC 3100 for BlackBerry to route HTTP traffic to the BES, andthen to the Enterprise MCG 3100.When you deploy the MCG 3100, data originates from the BES for theMCC 3100 for BlackBerry clients. The BES infastructure controls theboundary between the untrusted and trusted network, making the overalldeployment less complex.Nokia deployment considerationsThe MCG 3100 uses HTTPS over the cellular data network. The MCG 3100must be deployed so that internet traffic can reach it at the same time that itcommunicates with the CS 1000 TLAN.Nortel Mobile Communication 3100 Series PortfolioNortel Mobile Communication 3100 — Planning and EngineeringNN42030-200 01.09 StandardRelease 2.0 1 November 2007Copyright © 2007, Nortel Networks.
