Replacing equipment Page 289 of 362Hardware replacementReplacing the Security Device on the NT5D61 IODU/CUse this procedure to replace the Security Device on the NT5D61Input/Output Disk Unit with CD-ROM (IODU/C) Card.The Security Device is a field removable component and is located in theupper right corner of an IODU/C card. The device does not contain feature orsoftware release specific information, but it has a unique custom programnecessary for each customer. It is intended to serve the customer throughnumerous upgrade and feature changes.The Security Device is replaced only if such a replacement is suggested bymaintenance and/or diagnostic programs.See the X11 Administration (553-3001-311) for a description of allmaintenance commands, and the X11 System Messages Guide(553-3001-411) for interpreting system messages.Note: To replace the Security Device, a new Security Device andkeycode are required. On redundant systems, the new keycode mustvalidate against the new and existing Security Device.WARNINGPerforming this procedure in a nonredundant system, such as a 51C,will disrupt system operation. If possible, schedule the replacement atthe lowest traffic time.WARNINGModule covers are not hinged; do not let go of the cover. Lift the coveraway from the module and set it out of your work area.CAUTIONAt some point in this procedure the system will warm start, causing amomentary interruption in call processing.
