20 WSS overviewNN47250-301 (320656-D Version 01.02)Gigabit interface converter (GBIC) slots (2380 only)—A 2380 switch has four ports. Each port has a slotfor a 1000BASE-SX or 1000BASE-LX fiber-optic GBIC, and a built-in 1000BASE-TX copper interfacewith an RJ-45 connector. Only one interface, copper or fiber, can be enabled on a port. The GBICinterface is enabled by default. You can enable the copper interface (and disable the fiber interface) ifneeded. The gigabit Ethernet ports operate at 1000 Mbps only. They do not change speed to match 10-Mbps or100-Mbps links. The fiber-optic GBICs have standard SC Duplex connectors and use either single-mode fiber (SMF) forLX or multimode fiber (MMF) for SX. GBICs are available separately and are not included with theswitch.Status LEDsThe WSSs have LEDs that indicate port, power, and CPU status.2360, 2361 and 2380 LEDsTable 2 lists the LEDs for models 2360, 2361, and 2380..Table 2: WSS Status LEDs—2360, 2361 and 2380LED Appearance MeaningMgmt(2380 only)Bright green, then fade(repeated)Note: This LED appearanceis sometimes calledbreathing.WSS is operating normally.Blinking green WSS is booting.Quickly blinking amber WSS was unable to boot completely.Power supply status Solid green DC power output is on.Solid amber Power fault has occurred.Unlit AC power is off.Gigabit fiber linkactivity(2380 only)Solid green 1000-Mbps fiber link is operational.Blinking green (2380) Traffic is active on the 1000-Mbps fiber link.Gigabit copper linkactivity(2380 only)Solid green 1000-Mbps copper link is operational.Blinking green Traffic is active on the 1000-Mbps copperlink.Link(2360 and 2361 only)Solid green 100-Mbps link is operational.Solid amber 10-Mbps link is operational.Blinking green Traffic is active on the 100-Mbps link.Blinking amber Traffic is active on the 10-Mbps link.
