5Preparing to ExerciseSeat AdjustmentTo change seat position, lift upon the seat release lever locateddirectly under the front andsides of the seat. Place feet onthe foot pedals and push onefoot pedal all the way forwarduntil you hit the rubber stop.Now slide the seat by lifting theseat release lever (similar to ad-justing your car seat). Slide untilyour extended leg has a slightbend at the knee (avoid lockingyour knees when you exercise).This position allows your legs tobe slightly bent during operationso you won’t hit the rubber stopsas you exercise. Try the motionand see if this feels comfortable.If not, slide the seat forward orbackward one notch until it feelscomfortable. The seat numberposition is located under the leftside of the seat.Swivel Seat AdjustmentTo swivel the seat, lift up onthe swivel release lever directlyunder the rear and sides of theseat. Swivel the seat left or right90 o until it locks into position.The lever rotates with the seatfor easy access. To swivel backto the original position, lift up onthe release lever again. The armrests lift up and down (as shownin photo, above) to allow easieraccess to the NuStep.Arm AdjustmentTo change arm position, unscrewthe arm adjustment knob andslide handlebar up or down, sothat your arm has a slight bendat the elbow when fully extend-ed. Turn knob right to tighten.As a starting point, match theseat adjustment number withthe arm adjustment seĴing.Make sure the seat positionand arm position is correctlyset up for you.Do not over-extend your stepor reach distance.CAUTION!
