3-4CHAPTER 3 TROUBLESHOOTING3.3 ERROR CODESScout balances are equipped with software which will display an error condition whenit occurs. Table 3-2 Error Codes, describes the various error codes which can appearon the display and specifies the probable reason and remedy.TABLE 3-2. ERROR CODESDISPLAY REASONErr 0 Invalid checksum data. The balance may need recalibration, particularly linearitycalibration. If the error persists after recalibration, return the balance to thefactory for servicing.Err 1 Sample being weighed exceeds the capacity of the balance. If an error occurswhen the sample is within the balance's capacity, balance may be incorrectlycalibrated. An underload such as the pan off of the balance could also displayErr1. Recalibrate the balance.Err 4 Incorrect or no calibration mass used when performing calibration procedure.Error will flash momentarily, then the balance will use previous calibration data.Recalibrate correctly.Err 5 Value is too large to display; exceeds 99999 counts. Possibly caused by aninvalid parts counting sample.Err 6 Parts counting error - sample weighs <1d. Balance shows error then exits partscounting.Err 9 Internal data error. Return the balance to the factory for servicing.
