161 Setting UpInstalling the Printer❼ Turn the toner cartridge lock lever until it isturned end in the direction of the arrow.Guide GroovesGuide PostGuide Post❽ Align both guide posts of the image drum withtheir guide grooves on the printer, and gentlyput the image drum back into position.Note! • The print quality may lower when the toner cartridgeis not properly fixed.• Start using the printer with the toner cartridgesupplied with the printer, or the printer may notproperly display the end of the life of its tonercartridge.Vent LouverAir Vents5 Attach the vent louver.Memo You do not need to attach the vent louver when youdo not want to change the air release direction ofthe printer.❶ Fit the vent louver onto the air vents.Memo The louver can be attached in any of fourorientations.❾ Close the top cover.❺ Insert the toner cartridge hole into theimage drum dowel pin with tape side down.❻ Firmly press the grooves at the right sideof the toner cartridge against the bulgesection of toner cartridge guide.4 Install the toner cartridge to the image drum.❶ Take the new toner cartridge out of thepacking bag.❷ Gently shake it in vertical and horizontaldirections for several times.❸ Place the toner cartridge horizontally andslowly remove the tape from it.❹ Remove the tape from the protective sheet, and pullout the protective sheet in the direction of the arrow.❹ Remove the toner cartridge cover.Protective SheetTapeToner CartridgeBulge Section Toner Cartridge CoverImage DrumToner CartridgePoleGroovesToner Cartridge GuideHole
