Network Userís Guide47Network Configuration using thePrintSuperVision UtilityPrintSuperVision is a web-based application for managingprinting devices connected to a network. It consists of twoparts:ï A web application based on Microsoft web server (InternetInformation Server, IIS or Personal WEB Server, PWS), thatprovides the user interface.ï A monitoring program (PrintSuperVisor) that runs all thetime, collecting data and saving it in a database forstatistical reports and sending E-Mail alerts based on thesaved configuration.PrintSuperVision requires the .NET environment to be installedon the PC on which it runs. The supplied installer will install thisif necessary.PrintSuperVisionís main functions are:ï Maintaining the list of printing devices and organizing themin logical groups.ï Initially discovering and configuring printers connected tothe network.ï Locating printers visually on maps.ï Monitoring devices over time and saving data for statisticalreports.ï Sending email alerts when events occur that affect thefunctionality of printers.ï Statistical reports about usage of printers.ï Tracking maintenance data related to printers.NOTENot all utilities, features or protocols aresupported by every product.
