As with all electrical equipment,there are a few basic precautions you should take to avoidhurting yourself or damaging the printer.ï Carefully read the provided setup and operating instructions.ï Save all provided documentation for future reference.ï Read and follow all warning and instruction labels on theprinter itself.ï Unplug the printer before you clean it. Use only a dampcloth; do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.ï Place your printer on a firm, solid surface. If you put it onsomething unsteady, it may fall and be damaged. If youplace it on a soft surface, such as a rug, sofa, or cushion, thevents may be blocked, causing the printer to overheat.ï Protect your printer from overheating. Make sure noobstructions block the openings of the printer. Do not put theprinter on or near a heat source (such as a radiator or heatregister). Keep the printer out of direct sunlight.ï Always use this printer in a well ventilated area. Allowenough room around the printer for adequate ventilation andeasy access to the paper trays. If you put the printer in anykind of enclosure, make sure the enclosure is well ventilated.ï Do not use your printer near water. Do not spill liquid of anykind into it.ï Be certain that your power source matches the rating listedon the back of the printer.
