After printing, the paper is expelled from the printer andstacked in the output rack (capacity 10 sheets) in front of theASF.Always make sure there is no paper in the printer beforeswitching it off.See “Paper” in the User Guide for the types and sizes ofpaper you can use in your printer.Printing the Demo Page• With the printer powered, press the ON LINE andCARTRIDGE keys for at least four seconds.• A sheet of paper will be fed into the printer and the “demo”page will be executed automatically. The ON LINE willflash slowly while the “demo” page is being printed.Do not open the front cover of the printer while printing isin progress, as this may cause the paper to jam.To print another “demo” page, repeat the above procedure.To suspend printing temporarily, press ON LINE (pressingthis key a second time will cause printing to continue).The “demo” page lists the principal features of your printer.The “demo” page contents (see example on page XI) mayvary slightly, but this will not affect the functioning ofyour printer in any way.Connecting to a Computer/Host SystemThe interface cable for connecting the printer to your PCis NOT supplied with the printer. A manufacturer-recommended interface cable is available as an option.Make sure both your printer and your computer/hostsystem are switched off.• Plug the interface cable connector (item 3 or 4 on page IV)into the socket on the rear of the printer (see figure onpage V).• Connect the other end of the interface cable to theappropriate interface connector socket (port) on yourcomputer/host system.Installing Printer SoftwareThe diskettes (item D on page III) supplied with your printercontain:• a monochrome multilingual driver for Windows® 95,• a monochrome multilingual driver for Windows® 3.1/3.11and the printer set-up utility (for personalised settingsunder DOS).The contents of the diskettes guarantee compatibility with thespecific operating environments and provide a user-friendlyinterface for programming the printer.
