26 ENBasic operations2Choosing shutter speed (S shutter-priority mode)In mode S, you choose the shutter speed and let the camera automatically adjustaperture for optimal exposure. Rotate the mode dial to S.• After pressing the F button (F), use FG tochoose the shutter speed.• A fast shutter speed can freeze a fast actionscene without any blur. A slow shutter speed willblur a fast action scene. At a speed of BULB, theshutter remains open while the shutter button is pressed.
