Shutter speeds of [BULB] and [LIVE TIME] areavailable in mode M.Bulb photography (BULB): The shutter remains open while the shutter button is pressed.The exposure ends when the shutter button is released.Time photography (TIME): The exposure begins when the shutter button is pressed allthe way down. To end the exposure, press the shutter buttonall the way down again.When using [LIVE TIME], the progress of the exposure will be displayed in the monitorduring shooting. The display can also be refreshed by pressing the shutter buttonhalfway. In addition, [Live BULB] can be used to display the image exposure duringbulb photography. g “Using the custom menus” (P. 71)# Cautions• ISO sensitivity can be set to a value up to ISO 1600 for live bulb and live timephotography.• To reduce camera blur during long exposures, mount the camera on a tripod and use aremote cable (P. 120).• The following features are not available during long exposures:Sequential shooting/self-timer shooting/AE bracket shooting/image stabilizer/fl ash bracketing/multiple exposure** An option other than [Off] is selected for [Live BULB] or [Live TIME].Noise in imagesWhile shooting at slow shutter speeds, noise may appear on screen. These phenomenaoccur when the temperature rises in the image pickup device or image pickup deviceinternal drive circuit, causing current to be generated in those sections of the image pickupdevice that are not normally exposed to light. This can also occur when shooting with ahigh ISO setting in a high-temperature environment. To reduce this noise, the cameraactivates the noise reduction function. g [Noise Reduct.] (P. 75)Using movie mode (n)Movie mode (n) can be used to film movies with special effects.You can create movies that take advantage of the effects available in still photographymode.
