8106 ENCard basics8Usable cardsIn this manual, all storage devices are referred to as “cards.” Thefollowing types of SD memory card (commercially available) canbe used with this camera: SD, SDHC, SDXC, Eye-Fi, and FlashAir(with wireless LAN function). For the latest information, please visitthe Olympus website.SD card write protect switchThe SD card body has a write protect switch. If you set the switch tothe “LOCK” side, you will not be able to write to the card, delete data orformat. Return the switch to the unlock position enable writing.LOCK# Cautions• The data in the card will not be erased completely even after formatting the card ordeleting the data. When discarding, destroy the card to prevent leakage of personalinformation.• “FlashAir” cards cannot be formatted. Use the software supplied with the FlashAir card toformat the card.• Use the FlashAir or Eye-Fi card in compliance with the laws and regulations of the countrywhere the camera is used.
