ENSafety precautions If you notice an abnormality such asabnormal sound, abnormally high tem-perature, burnt odor or smoke duringuse, perform the following steps:1 Immediately remove the battery carefully.2 Contact your dealer or the OlympusService Station for service. Leaving it couldcause a fire or burn. Do not soak the battery in freshwater orseawater or let the terminals get wet. Stop using the battery if you noticediscoloration, deformation, or otherabnormality. If recharging is not complete after thespecified recharging time, stop recharg-ing.fCaution Using an unauthorized battery couldcause an explosion (or blowout).Dispose of the used battery accordingto “Disposal of rechargeable battery”(☞ p.9) in this manual. Do not apply a strong shock to thebattery or throw it. When using the battery for the first timeor after not using it for a long time, besure to recharge it before use. The battery has a fixed durability. Ifthe battery quickly runs out even afterbeing recharged under specified condi-tions, replace it with a new one.AC adapterfWarning Do not disassemble, repair, or modifythe AC adapter.Doing so could cause an electric shock orinjury. Do not use the AC adapter near flam-mable gas or material (such as petrol,benzin or thinner).▌BatteryfDanger Do not put the battery near fire. Do not throw the battery into fire orheat it.Doing so could cause a fire, blowout or ignition. Do not directly solder, deform, modifyor disassemble the battery. Do not connect the positive and nega-tive terminals.Doing so could cause heat generation, electricshock or fire. When carrying or storing the battery,always put it into the case to protect theterminals. Do not carry or store it with akey chain or other metal item.Doing so could cause heat generation, electricshock or fire. Do not directly connect the batteryto the power outlet or the slot of carcigarette lighter. Do not use or leave the battery at aplace with high temperatures such asunder direct sunlight, in the car in thehot sun, or near a heater.Doing so could cause a fire, burn or injury dueto liquid leak, heat generation, blowout orother reason.fWarning Do not touch or hold the battery withwet hands.Doing so could cause an electric shock orfailure. Do not use a battery whose package isscratched or damaged.Doing so could cause a blowout or heat gen-eration. Do not leave the battery within thereach of infants or children.They could swallow the battery.
