An audio pre-record time, as well as an audio post-record time, can be set independently, although it cannot be longer than thespecified video prerecord/postrecordtime.About Recording TriggersThe following types of recordingtriggers are available.• GPIO SignalsThe rising or falling edge, or thehigh or low level, of a GPIO signalcan be specified as a recordingtrigger. When using edge trigger, recordingstarts when the signal transitionsthrough the specified edge (forexample, when a rising edge triggeris specified, recording starts whenthe signal transitions from low tohigh level). When using a signal level as atrigger, recording starts and endswhen the signal reaches and thendeparts from the specified level, respectively.• Vehicle Speed SignalSpeed data detected by the recorderserves as a recording trigger whenthe specified speed is exceeded. This signal is handled as an edgesignal to start recording, and is notused to stop recording.Select from the following detectionmethods according to the intendedapplication or installation conditions.Detection of own vehicle speed:Uses the vehicle speedpulse (page 44) or GPSTarget vehicle speed:Uses a radar gunNote:To use the vehicle speed pulse,GPS or radar gun as the recordingtrigger, check with your supplier toensure that connections have beenmade correctly, then specify thesource device (refer to the OperatingInstructions of the Remote ControlPanel).Notes:• If both the vehicle speed pulseand GPS are enabled, the vehiclespeed pulse has priority as therecording trigger. After the recording trigger isdetected by vehicle speed pulse orGPS, if the vehicle is stopped or aspeed of 5 mph or 5 kph below theset speed is detected, the recordingtrigger can be used again.• Recording is allowed only whenthe [READY] lamp on the recorderis lit. If pressing the [REC] buttonor applying a recording trigger failsto start recording, the [REC] lampson the recorder, Color Cameraand Remote Control Panel blink ata high rate.
