9Notes on HandlingUsage• Do not remove a P2 card whileit is being accessed, as the P2card may be damaged or the P2card slot may become disabled.When the recorder senses adisabled slot, it may reboot itselfautomatically.• Do not set liquid containers orsmall metal objects on the recorderor P2 cards.• Do not insert foreign objects intothe openings of any devices.• Do not attempt to modify therecorder or P2 cards.• Do not use the recorder in a placewhere it or a P2 card might get wet,or water might get inside them.• The recorder is intended to workonly with P2 cards. Do not attemptto use non-P2 cards, as that coulddamage the recorder.• When inserting a P2 card, makecertain that it is not upside downor backwards, and do not attemptto force a bent or damaged P2card, as that could damage thecard or P2 card slot.• While the recorder is operating(and especially recording), donot disconnect the recorder ’spower cable (included in theseparately sold Cable Kit). Beforedisconnecting the power cable,first stop all operations and turnthe recorder off. Otherwise, the P2card may be damaged, or recordersetting files or management dataon the P2 card may be corrupted.Maintenance• To clean the recorder, turn thevehicle’s ignition switch to theLOCK (OFF) position, and keepthe recorder power turned off(page 18).• Do not use solvents such asbenzene, thinner or alcohol, asthese can deform the case ordamage the surface finish.• Use a soft, dry cloth to dust off therecorder. If severely soiled, wipe itwith a cloth moistened with a weaksolution of mild synthetic detergentand wrung out, and afterwardswipe with a dry cloth.• If using a chemically treated cloth,follow the instructions providedwith it.
