13Installation (continue)To Mount the P2 drive in a Personal Computer 5-type Bay1 After switching the personal computer off,remove the power cable from the personalcomputer.2 After checking that the personal computeris off, remove the cover from the personalcomputer.3 Put the PCI Express cable included withthe P2 drive through the notch in the boardbracket about 20 cm from the cableconnector.4 Attach the PCI Express cable with thecable stop on the top of the PCI Expressboard base plate.5 After passing the PCI Express cablethrough the slot attaching the PCI Expressboard, insert the PCI Express board intothe PCI Express connector inside thepersonal computer.z Install the PCI Express board with thePCI Express connector. Installing withan ordinary PCI connector may causedamage to the personal computer.z Since the included PCI Express boarduses a full height bracket, it cannot beinstalled in a low-profile slot.z If you are unable to pass the PCIExpress cable through the slot on yourpersonal computer, the P2 drive cannotbe mounted in the 5-type bay. In thiscase, use the P2 drive as an externaldrive.6 Firmly attach the PCI Express board to thepersonal computer with the screws etcincluded with the personal computer. ThePCI Express cable will extend about 20 cmfrom the connector to the exterior of thepersonal computer.7 Connect the PCI Express cable to thePCIe interface connector of the PCIExpress board. After connecting the cable,tighten the screws on the connector tofirmly attach the connector. Bend the cableso that it loosely arcs between the areaconnected to the board and the notch.
