Precautions for system connectionsBear in mind the following points whenconnecting the camera recorder and unit as asystem.$ Do not input signals to the GENLOCK IN connectorof the camera recorder.$ Do not connect both the unit and an ECU(extension control unit: AJ-EC3P) to the camerarecorder at the same time.$ Some of the camera recorder’s selector switches(including GAIN, CAM BAR SW, WHITE BAL andSHUTTER) will have no effect.$ Any functions not listed below, if allocated to thecamera recorder’s USER buttons (USER MAIN,USER1 and USER2), will have no effect.O INHO AUDIO CH1O AUDIO CH2O REC SWO RET SW$ All settings established for items on the USER SWGAIN screen on the OPERATION page will have noeffect.$ Even when OFF settings are selected for theSHUTTER SPEED items of the camera recorder,they will all be changed to ON settings.$ When inputting the return signal to the unit andmonitoring it on the viewfinder of the camerarecorder, the viewfinder image may be disrupted atthe moment when the RET button on the lens ispressed.$ When the OUTPUT SEL switch on the camerarecorder is set to the OFF position, no signals willbe output from the MON OUT connector.$ The microphone which is used for INCOM (Inter-Communication) is set to the “carbon type” (at thefactory). Switching to the “dynamic type” requires achange in the position of one of the unit’s internalswitches.For details, consult your dealer.$ The gain value will be set to low even when theGAIN selector switch on the camera recorder is atthe “M” or “H” position.It will also be set to low after the power of thecamera recorder is switched from OFF to ON.$ When the camera recorder is detached from theunit, the settings of the camera recorder will berestored as the unit’s GAIN switch, WHITE BALswitch and SHUTTER switch settings.$ Before performing the system adjustments for allthe devices connected, turn on the power of thecamera recorder.$ If, while a menu is displayed, the unit’sSTART/STOP button or VTR START/STOP buttonon the camera recorder is pressed, the unit’s SETUP lamp will light, but the menu display will becleared from the screen.To display the menu again, set the SET UP buttonfrom OFF to ON.$ MAIN MENU contains the menu items which can beoperated using this unit.
