This radio set offers convenientfunctions using such data.RDS service availability varies with areas. Pleaseunderstand if RDS service is not available in your area,the following service is not available, either.The following functions are available when receiving RDSstations.AF (Alternative Frequency)The following functions are available when the AF modeis active (a page 19).¡ When receiving conditions become bad, a station withbetter receiving conditions is automatically tuned into.¡ When executing APM, only RDS stations are selected.¡ When calling up a preset station, a best receiving sta-tion is selected automatically. (a page 20)TA (Traffic Announcement)The following functions areavailable when the TA modeis active. (a page 20)¡ A TP station is automat-ically searched for andreceived at the instantof toggling the TA modeon if you are receiving anon-TP station.¡ When executing station search or APM, only TP sta-tions are selected.¡ Setting to TA on with the unit in another mode, it willautomatically switch to radio mode and output thetraffic announcement when the traffic announcementbegins. The traffic announcement having finished, theunit will return to the previous mode. (TA StandbyMode)PTY (Program Type)The following functions are available when the PTY modeis active (a page 21).¡ The PTY of receiving station appears.¡ Programs can be searched for by PTY.Note: PTY language can be selected (a page 21).Other functions of RDSCT (Clock Time)The clock is automatically adjusted.PS (Program Service Name)As well as the frequency, the name of the broadcaststation appears.EON (Enhanced Other Network)RDS information is updated constantly in response to thecurrent position.EON-TATraffic information from the current and other networkstations can be received.Emergency Announcement ReceptionEmergency announcement automatically appears on thedisplay when it is received.Lights while receiving the EON signal.Lights while receiving a TPstation (that broadcastsTA).Program Service NameLights when TA is activated.TA receiving displayPTY on displayLights while receiving theTA signal.Receiving station PTYLights when AF1 isactivated.Lights when AF2 isactivated.Lights when PTY isactivated.AF ON/OFFHolding down [TA] (AF) for 2 sec. or more toggles AFon and off.
