12RQT7540Getting startedRefer to the control reference on page 11.STEP 2 TV Tuning≥When connecting to a television with the VIDEO OUT,S-VIDEO OUT or COMPONENT VIDEO OUT terminal(➡ page 8).≥When connecting to a television that does not havethe Q Link function (➡page 46).This unit’s Auto-Setup function automatically tunes all available TVstations and synchronizes the time when the TV channel that isbroadcasting time and date information is tuned.[For]the[United]Kingdom]only[≥When connecting to a television with RF socket only(➡ page 9)1 Turn on the television and select theappropriate AV input to suit theconnections to this unit.2 Press [Í DVD] to turn the unit on.Auto-Setup starts. This takes about 5 minutes.[For]the[United]Kingdom]only[(When connecting to a television with RF socket only)Set the new RF output channel to TV (refer to theinstructions for your TV).Select an unused channel pre-set on your TV and tune it tothe RF output channel number shown on the unit’s display.(When the Auto-Setup screen does not appear clearly evenafter performing the above operations, re-tune the channeluntil the Auto-Setup screen becomes clear.)3 When Auto-Setup has completed, the Owner ID settingsscreen appears.Press [1] and press the numberedbuttons to enter a 4-digit PIN number.≥Make a note of the PIN number (don’t forget), as it is notpossible to return to the factory preset.4 Press [ENTER] twice to store the PINnumber.The cursor moves to “Name”.5 Press [1].6 Press [3, 4] to select a letter andthen press [1].Repeat this to enter the name.7 Press [ENTER] to store the name.8 Press [4] and [1], “House No.” and“Postcode” in the same way.9 Press [RETURN].The Owner ID settings screen disappears.To stop partwayPress [RETURN].∫ If the clock setting menu appearsSet the clock manually (➡ page 44).∫ To confirm that stations have been tunedcorrectly (➡page 42)∫ To restart Auto-Setup (➡page 43)You can also use the following method to restart Auto-Setup.When the unit is on and stoppedPress and hold [X CH] and [CH W] on the main unit for about 5seconds.≥All the settings except for the ratings level, ratings password,Owner ID and time settings return to the factory preset.
