35RQT7462Convenient functions[RAM] [DVD-R]➡ page 30, Entering textThe disc name is displayed in the FUNCTIONS window.[RAM]If set, this will protect the disc from accidental erasure.Press [2, 1] to set disc protection andpress [ENTER].The lock symbol appears closed when the disc is write-protected.(➡ page 44, Formatting)[HDD]Erase the entire contents on the HDD.[RAM]Some DVD-RAM are unformatted. Format them before using them inthis unit. Formatting also allows you to erase the entire contents of adisc.1 Press [2, 1] to select “Yes” andpress [ENTER].2 Press [2, 1] to select “Start” andpress [ENTER].A message appears when formatting is finished.3 Press [ENTER].To stop formattingPress [RETURN].≥You can cancel formatting if it takes more than 2 minutes. The discmust be reformatted if you do this.≥Do not disconnect the AC mains lead while the message“Formatting the disc” is on the television. This can render thedisc unusable.≥Formatting normally takes a few minutes, however it may take up toa maximum of 70 minutes ([RAM]).≥Formatting cannot be performed on DVD-R or CD-R/RW.[DVD-R]Prior to finalizing, you can select thebackground that will be displayed asthe DVD-Video top menu afterfinalizing.≥You can change thumbnailsdisplayed in the Top menu.(➡page 27, Change Thumbnail)Press [3, 4, 2, 1] toselect the background and press [ENTER].[DVD-R]Select whether to show the top menu after finalizing the disc.Do this before finalizing the disc.Press [3, 4] to select “Top Menu” or“Title 1” and press [ENTER].Top Menu: The top menu appears first.Title 1: The disc content is played without displaying the topmenu.(➡page 44, Finalize)[DVD-R]You can play DVD-R on compatible DVD players by finalizing themon this unit, effectively making them into DVD-Video that complieswith DVD-Video standards.≥Set “Top Menu” and“Auto-Play Select” (➡ above) before finalizingthe disc.1 Press [2, 1] to select “Yes” andpress [ENTER].2 Press [2, 1] to select “Start” andpress [ENTER].A message appears when finalizing is finished.3 Press [ENTER].≥Do not disconnect the AC mains lead while the message“Finalizing the disc” is on the television.
