- 6 -Bit-locking function1. With the trigger switch not engagedand a screwdriver bit locked inplace, the tool can be used as amanual screwdriver (up to 22.6 Nm,230 kgf-cm, 199 in-lbs).There will be a little play in thechuck, but this is not a malfunction.2. This feature is handy for tighteningscrews that require more torquethan the maximum torque of thedriver (position on the clutch), forconfirming the tightness of a screwor to loosen an extremely tightscrew.Speed SelectionChoose a low or high speed to suitthe use.The more the speed control trigger ispulled, the higher the speed becomes.No load speed TorqueLOW 80 - 550/min (rpm) StrongHIGH 300 - 2000/min (rpm) WeakCAUTION:Check the speed selector switchbefore use.Use at low speed when strong forceis needed during operation.(Using at high speed while a strongforce is applied may cause a motorbreakdown.)Do not operate the speed selectorswitch (LOW-HIGH) while pulling onthe speed control trigger. This cancause the rechargeable battery towear quickly or damage the internalmechanism of the motor.* See appendix for "RECOMMENDEDSPEED SELECTION”.For Appropriate use of BatterypackNi-MH Battery pack(EY9200/EY9201/EY9230/EY9231)Charge the Ni-MH battery fully be-fore storage in order to ensure alonger service life.The ambient temperature rangeis between 0°C (32°F) and 40°C(104°F).If the battery pack is used when thebattery temperature is below 0°C(32°F), the tool may fail to functionproperly. In that case, charge thebattery until charging is completedfor appropriate functioning of thebattery.When battery pack is not in use,keep it away from other metal objectslike: paper clips, coins, keys, nails,screws, or other small metal objectsthat can make a connection from oneterminal to another.Shorting the battery terminals togeth-er may cause sparks, burns or a fire.When operating with a Ni-MH bat-tery pack, make sure the place iswell-ventilated.Battery Pack LifeThe rechargeable batteries have alimited life. If operation time becomesextremely short after recharging, replacethe battery pack with a new one.Note:Use under extremely hot or coldconditions will reduce operatingcapacity per charge.Battery RecyclingATTENTION:For environmental protection andrecycling of materials, be sure that itis disposed of at an officially assignedlocation, if there is one in your country.ChargingNote:When you charge the battery packfor the first time, or after prolongedstorage, charge it for about 24hours to bring the batteries up tofull capacity.
