4-64.3.2 The Roles Played by the Various AreasInitialization information setting area - These are used in the initialization processing of the ET-LAN unit.- These specify basic information such as the addresses and node numbers of source stations, and there-send setting time for the TCP.- These are also used to specify the area settings for the communication buffer used for transparentcommunication.Routing information setting area - These are used in the initialization processing of the ET-LAN unit.- These are specified when communication is being carried out from the ET-LAN unit with a node on anEthernet, through a router.- These are used to specify router IP addresses and sub-network masks.- These do not need to be set if communication is being carried out only on the network to which thesource station is connected.Connection information setting area - These are used for open processing of the ET-LAN unit.- These specify TCP and UDP settings, the method used for opening the ET-LAN unit, and the IPaddresses and port numbers of the node at the other end.- These can be specified separately for each connection, and are divided into eight blocks.Initialization information notified area - When the initialization processing for the ET-LAN unit has been completed successfully, the specifiedconditions are stored at these addresses.- The contents stored here include source node IP addresses, MEWTOCOL station numbers, and otherinformation.- If the initialization processing was not completed successfully, the error code is stored here.Connection information notified area - When the open processing for the ET-LAN unit has been completed successfully, the specifiedconditions are stored at these addresses.- The contents stored here include IP addresses and port numbers for the destination nodes, and otherinformation.- If the open processing was not completed successfully, the error code is stored here.Handshake area - This is the area in which the handshake takes place between the CPU unit and the ET-LAN unit.- The requests and completions for various types of processing such as initialization, opening, andcommunication are carried out here, as well as confirmation that processing has been completed.- If the I/O is being used for the handshake, these addresses do not need to be used.Error log area - Error-related information such as the contents of communication errors and unsuccessfully completedprocessing, as well as the contents of unit errors, are stored here as error codes.- Up to 14 codes can be stored here at one time for each unit.- The contents of these addresses can be confirmed using the shared memory readout menu in theprogramming tools.
