1INSTRUCTIONSDigital Fiber Sensor Amplifier for IO-LinkFX-550L SeriesME-FX550LV1EN 09/2018Thank you for purchasing Panasonic products. Please read this InstructionManual carefully and thoroughly for the correct and optimum use of thisproduct. Kindly keep this manual in a convenient place for quick reference.WARNING● Never use this product as a sensing device for personnel protection.● In case of using sensing devices for personnel protection, use prod-ucts which meet laws and standards, such as OSHA, ANSI or IECetc., for personnel protection applicable in each region or country.Note:This product is not equipped with an automatic interference preventionfunction. By setting different frequencies, interference can be prevented forup to four units. For the setting method, refer to in section 12 “PRO MODE”.”1 Compliance with standardsThis product complies with the following standards andregulations.● For the EU: EMC Directive 2014/30/ECContact for CE:Panasonic Marketing Europe GmbHPanasonic Testing CenterWinsbergring 15, 22525 Hamburg, Germany2 Part description1 2 3 4567891 Operation indicator for sensing output (orange)2 Digital display (green/red)3 UP key (+) Functions:● Teach● Fine adjustment of the threshold value● Select settings4 DOWN key (–)5 MODE key Functions:● Select modes● Cancel6 SET key Functions:● Teach● Save selected settings7 Mode indicator PRO mode (yellow) Lights in PRO modeFlashes in normal status during IO-Link communicationOFF in normal status without IO-Link communication8 Mode indicator CUST (custom)mode (yellow)Lights when setting “Light sensitivitysetting mode”9 Mode indicator L /D (Light-ON/Dark-ON) mode (yellow)Lights when setting “Sensing outputoperation mode”3 MountingInstallation to a DIN rail1. Attach the railing on the rear of the ampli-fier to the DIN rail.2. Push the amplifier in the direction of thearrow as illustrated so that it attachessecurely. 1.2.Removal from a DIN rail1. Push the amplifier forward.2. Lift the front part of the amplifier up.1.2.Connecting the fiber cable● Mount the fiber cables when the power is off.● The attachments to the fiber cables need to be fitted BEFORE youinsert the fibers into the amplifier. For details, refer to the instructionmanual enclosed with the fibers.● Insert the fiber cables slowly into the inlets until they stops. Excessiveforce may damage the product1. Snap the fiber lock lever 1 down asfar as it will go.2. Insert the fiber cables slowly into theinlets until they stop (see note).3. Return the fiber lock lever to theoriginal position.2.1. 3. 123Note:With the coaxial reflective type fiber, insert the single core fiber cable intothe inlet for the emitter 2 (inlet on the amplifier is labeled “P”) and themulti-core fiber cable into the inlet for the receiver 3. If they are insertedthe wrong way round, the sensing performance will deteriorate.4 I/O circuit diagramsAs a general-purpose sensorConnected to a IO-Link masterThis product IO-Link master(Brown / 1) +V +V(Black / 4) C/Q C/Q( White / 2) DO DI(Blue / 3) 0V 0V(Brown / 1) +V(Black / 4) C/Q Note(White / 2) DO(Blue / 3) 0VLoadLoad+-24V DC±10%Terminal arrangement of M12 connectorNote: When the product is used as a general-purpose sensor, theIO-Link communication output (C/Q) provides the same outputoperation as the control output (DO).142 3Terminal No. Terminal name1 +V2 Control output (DO)3 0V4 IO-Link communication (C/Q) Next |
