Keepthe AC adaptor 1 m or more away fromthe radio.≥ When using the AC adaptor, it maygenerate whirring sounds. However, this isnormal.≥ After use, be sure to disconnect the ACadaptor. (If it is left connected, a minuteamount of current is consumed.)≥ Always keep the electrodes of the ACadaptor and battery clean.When the status indicator is flashing at aparticularly fast or slow rate, thefollowing should be considered.Flashing with approx. 4 second period(off for approx. 2 seconds, on for approx.2 seconds):≥ When the battery is over discharged or thetemperature of the battery is too high orlow. It can be charged, but it may take afew hours to complete the chargingnormally.≥ It will flash in approx. 2 second intervalswhen normal charging resumes. Even insuch cases, it may start flashing in approx.4 second intervals until charging iscompleted depending on the conditions ofuse.Flashing with approx. 0.5 second period(off for approx. 0.25 second, on forapprox. 0.25 second):≥ The battery is not charged. Remove thebattery from the unit, and try chargingagain.≥ Check that the terminals of the unit orbattery are not dirty or covered with aforeign object, and connect the batterycorrectly once again. If a foreign object ordirt is present, turn off the unit beforeremoving.≥ The battery or environment is at anextremely high or low temperature. Waituntil the temperature has returned to anappropriate level and try charging again.
