66OperationsFor fax advantage assistance, call 1-800-435-7329.CopyingThe unit does not make a copy.l You cannot make a copy duringprogramming. Make the copy afterprogramming or stop programming.A black line, a white line or a dirty patternappears on the copied document.l The white plate, scanner glass or lowerglass are dirty. Clean them (p. 72–74).The printing quality is poor.l Some paper has instructionsrecommending which side to print on. Tryturning the paper over.l You may have used paper with a cottonand/or fiber content that is over 20%, suchas letterhead or resume paper.l The remaining toner is low. Replace thetoner cartridge (p. 68).l We recommend you replace the drum unitevery third time you replace the tonercartridge (p. 68). To check the drum lifeand quality, please print the printer test list(p. 75).l The toner save mode of feature #79 is on(p. 60).l When you make a copy fromtransparencies, be sure to use the scannerglass. Click [OK].— The compression format of the file isnow changed.[Launcher] disappears.l Look in the tool bar. If you do not find the[Launcher] icon, it is closed.
