8.1 Information about Using an IP NetworkThis section explains common IP network information necessary for setting up One-look networks and QSIGnetworks.8.1.1 Using a VoIP Network with the PBXThis PBX supports Panasonic KX-NT300 series, KX-NT500 series, and KX-NT265 IP proprietary telephones(IP-PTs), Panasonic IP softphones, and SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) phones (hardphones and softphones)for communication on a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) network. These IP telephones can be used asextensions of the PBX when the local office LAN is connected to other LANs at different locations.This PBX also enables VoIP communication with PBXs installed at different locations. Since the communicationdoes not take place over conventional telephone network, the high cost of long distance communication isvirtually eliminated.To establish a VoIP network, the virtual cards are used according the requirement of the network.
