Useful Information43The handset will not turn on. L Make sure that the batteries are installed correctly(page 11).L Fully charge the batteries (page 12).L Clean the charge contacts and charge again (page12).I have changed the displaylanguage to a language I cannotread.L Change the display language (page 13).I cannot make or receive calls. L The AC adaptor or telephone line cord is notconnected. Check the connections.L If you are using a splitter to connect the unit,remove the splitter and connect the unit to the wallsocket directly. If the unit operates properly, checkthe splitter.L Disconnect the base unit from the telephone lineand connect the line to a known working telephone.If the working telephone operates properly, contactour service personnel to have the unit repaired. Ifthe working telephone does not operate properly,contact your service provider/telephone company.L You dialled a call restricted number (page 25).L The key lock feature is turned on. Turn it off (page15).L The unit is not designed to be used with rotary(pulse dialling) services.The unit does not ring. L The ringer volume is turned off. Adjust the ringervolume (page 20, 24).L The night mode feature is turned on. Turn it off(page 22).The batteries should be chargingbut the battery icon does notchange.L Clean the charge contacts and charge again (page12).A busy tone is heard when {C} ispressed.L The handset is too far from the base unit. Movecloser and try again.L Another handset is in use. Wait and try again later.Static is heard, sound cuts in andout. Interference from otherelectrical units.L Place the handset and the base unit away fromother electrical appliances.L Move closer to the base unit.L Your unit is connected to a telephone line withADSL service.
