Using the Caller List26Editing the Caller’s Phone NumberYou can edit a phone number in the Caller List by removing its area code and/or thelong distance code “1”.Once you call back an edited number, this unit can automatically edit incomingphone numbers from the same area code in the Caller List and each time youreceive a call (Caller ID Number Auto Edit, p. 27).• If you receive a call from a 7-digit phone number stored in the phone book,“ ” will not be displayed when the call’s Caller ID information is displayed.1 Press the soft key ( ), [d], or [B] to enter the Caller List.2 Scroll to the desired caller by pressing[d] or [B].3 Press the soft key ( ) repeatedlyuntil the number is shown in the desiredformat.• Each time you press the soft key ( ),the number is rearranged into one of 3patterns.FG –H 1– –• The order in which patterns F–H aredisplayed depends on how the telephonenumber is displayed in step 2.4 To call the edited number, press [C] or [s].• If Caller ID Number Auto Edit feature is turned on (factory preset is on),phone numbers with the same area code as the number you edited will nowbe edited in the Caller List and each time you receive a call.• You can press [OFF] immediately after pressing [C] or [s] if you wish toactivate the Auto Edit feature without actually dialing the number you justedited.To save the edited number into the phone book, press the soft key( ).• If there is no name information, see “Storing Caller Information in the PhoneBook” on page 28, from step 3.• Even if the Auto Edit feature is turned on, this feature will not be activated bysaving the edited number in the phone book.HandsetC I DPARKER,FRED1-555-321-5555EDITEDITPhone no.Area code Phone no.Area code Phone no.555-321-5555G321-5555F1-555-321-5555HSAVEEDIT
