Troubleshooting48You cannot redial. • If the last number dialed was more than 48digits long, the number will not be redialedcorrectly.You cannot make longdistance calls.• Please make sure you have long distanceservice.The handset does not displaythe caller’s name and/orphone number.• You need to subscribe to Caller ID.• Other telephone equipment may beinterfering with your phone. Disconnect it andtry again.• Other electrical appliances connected to thesame outlet may be interfering with Caller ID.• Telephone line noise may be affecting Caller ID.• The caller requested not to send his/herCaller ID information (p. 23).• If a (separate) Caller ID box is connectedbetween the base unit and the telephone walljack, disconnect the Caller ID box or plug theunit directly into the wall jack.The handset cannotautomatically edit the CallerList/incoming phone numbers.• The Caller ID Number Auto Edit feature isturned off. Turn it on (p. 27) and try again.• You need to press [C] or [s] after editingthe number.The handset display exits theCaller List or phone book.• Do not pause for over 60 seconds whilesearching.“Recharge battery” isdisplayed, “3” flashes, orthe handset beepsintermittently.• Fully charge the battery (p. 10).“Charge for 6 HRS” and“4” are displayed and thehandset does not work.• The battery has been discharged. Fullycharge the battery (p. 11).You charged the battery fully,but “Recharge battery” isstill displayed and/or “3”continues to flash, or “Chargefor 6 HRS” and “4” aredisplayed.• Clean the charge contacts and charge again(p. 11).• The battery may need to be replaced.
