If you subscribe to this service,your telephone company’s Voice Mailsystem can answer calls for you when youare unavailable to answer the phone orwhen your line is busy. Messages arerecorded by the telephone company, notyour telephone.Note:L Please contact your telephone companyfor details and availability of this servicein your area.Storing the Voice Mail (VM)access numberIn order to listen to your Voice Mailmessages, you must dial your telephonecompany’s Voice Mail access number.Once you have stored your Voice Mailaccess number, you can dial itautomatically (page 61).1 Press {MENU} (center of joystick).2 Scroll to Q, then press {SELECT}.3 Scroll to “Store VM access#”, thenpress {SELECT}.4 Enter your access number (max. 32digits).L To correct a digit, use the joystick tomove the cursor, then press{CLEAR}. Enter the correct number.L If a pause is required when dialing,press {PAUSE} where needed (page22).5 Press {SAVE}, then press {OFF}.Note:L When storing your Voice Mail accessnumber and your mailbox password,press {PAUSE} to add pauses (page22) between the access number and thepassword as necessary. Consult yourtelephone company for the requiredpause time.Example:To erase the Voice Mail access numberRepeat steps 1 to 3, then press and hold{CLEAR} until all digits are erased. Press{SAVE}, then press {OFF}.Voice Mail (VM) tone detectionYour telephone company sends specialsignals (sometimes called “Voice Mailtones” or “stutter tones”) to the unit to letyou know you have new Voice Mailmessages. If you hear a series of dialtones followed by a continuous dial toneafter you press {C}, {s}, or {SP-PHONE}, you have new Voice Mailmessages.
