Programmable Settings39L Have the handset and base unit neareach other when re-registering thehandset.L KX-TG5839AL only:Confirm the extension number of thehandset which has lost thecommunication by placing the handseton the base unit or charger.If you re-register the handset using theother handset’s extension number [1]or [2], the other handset will notfunction.1 Handset:Press {MENU}.2 Scroll to “Initial setting” bypressing {V} or {^}, then press {>}.3 Scroll to “Registration” by pressing{V} or {^}, then press {>}.4 KX-TG5838AL base unit:Press and hold {LOCATOR/INTERCOM} until the CHARGEindicator flashes.KX-TG5839AL base unit:Press and hold the locator/intercombutton that corresponds to the handsetyou want to re-register ({LOCATOR/INTERCOM 1} or {LOCATOR/INTERCOM 2}) until the registeringhandset number (H1 or H2) isdisplayed.L After the CHARGE indicator startsflashing, the rest of the proceduremust be completed within 1 minute.5 Handset:Press {OK}, then wait until the handsetbeeps.L Registration is complete.Time adjustment (Caller IDsubscribers only)Using this feature, the unit’s date and timesetting will be automatically adjusted whencaller information is received. To turn thisfeature on, select “Caller ID[auto]”(default).
