Answering System Features42Answering systemThe unit contains an answering systemwhich can answer and record calls for youwhen you are unavailable to answer thephone.For details about memory capacity, seepage 46.Important:L Only 1 person can access the answeringsystem (listen to messages, record agreeting message, etc.) at a time.L When callers leave messages, the unitrecords the day and time of eachmessage. Make sure the date and timehave been set (page 17).L You can select the caller’s recordingtime (page 50).Recording your greetingmessageYou can record your own greetingmessage (max. 2 minutes) that will beplayed when the answering systemanswers a call. If you do not record agreeting message, a pre-recordedgreeting message will be used.Sample greeting message: “This is (yourname). We are unable to answer thephone right now. Please leave a messageafter the beep. Thank you.”1 Press {GREETING REC}.L The unit announces “To recordgreeting, press record again.”2 Within 10 seconds, press {GREETINGREC} again.3 After the unit beeps, speak clearlyabout 20 cm away from the MIC.L The display will show the elapsedrecording time.4 To stop recording, press {GREETINGREC} or {STOP}.Note:L If the greeting message is less than 1second long, the unit beeps 6 times andannounces, “Your greeting was notrecorded.
