Answering System33Answering systemThis unit contains an answering systemwhich can answer and record calls foryou when you are unavailable toanswer the phone.Important:L Only 1 person can access theanswering system at a time.L When callers leave messages, theunit records the day and time of eachmessage. Make sure the date andtime have been correctly set (page15).Memory capacityThe total recording capacity (includingyour greeting message) is:– about 10 minutes for KX-TG6031/KX-TG6032/KX-TG6033/KX-TG6034– about 16 minutes for KX-TG6051/KX-TG6052/KX-TG6053A maximum of 64 messages can berecorded.L If the message memory becomes full,the ANSWER ON indicator flashesrapidly (if the answering system isturned on). Erase unnecessarymessages (page 34).L When the message memorybecomes full, the greeting message isdifferent depending on your situation:– If you use the prerecorded greetingmessage, the unit automaticallyswitches to another prerecordedgreeting message asking callers tocall again later.– If you recorded your own greetingmessage, the same message is stillannounced to callers even thoughtheir messages are not recorded.Turning the answeringsystem on/offPress {ANSWER ON} to turn on/off theanswering system.L When the answering system is turnedon, the ANSWER ON indicator lights.L When the answering system is turnedoff, the ANSWER ON indicator turnsoff.Screening callsWhile a caller is leaving a message, youcan listen to the call through the baseunit’s speaker.
